OUR MODEL: WHAT IT SHOWS
Our model shows where Lego is made, sold, used and recycled.
At the factory, Lego is manufactured and ready to be sold. It is transported from one of the four countries where it is made/packaged to our home in Ontario. The plane represented travel between countries and the delivery truck represents the travel between the place where the Lego arrives in Canada to the store where it is sold.
Toys R Us is an example of a store where the Lego is sold. People might take it home in their car (above), on the bus, or by walking or biking.
The home is where the Lego is used.
Goodwill is an example of a donation centre where people can give away items that they are done using that can still be used by someone else.
The landfill is where the Lego is put if anyone chooses to throw it in the garbage since it can’t be recycled. We decided not to put a landfill on our model because we want to encourage people to donate their Lego when they are done with it, sell it, or give it to a friend.
